Holy Bible
The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26).
Trinity
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and co-eternal (I John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11).
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1,14, 20:28; I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; I Timothy 2:5).
Virgin Birth
Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Father, through the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity) in the virgin Mary's womb; therefore, He is the Son of God (Matthew 1:18, 25; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:27-35).
Redemption
Man was created good and upright, but by voluntary transgression he fell; his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Gen. 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21).
Regeneration
For anyone to know God, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential (John 6:44, 65; Matthew 19:28; Titus 3:5).
Salvation
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22).
Repentance
Repentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ, which allows us to receive His redemption and to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Thus, through repentance we receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation (Acts 2:21, 3:19; I John 1:9).
Sanctification
Sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to God’s Word and His Spirit in order to complete the development of Christ's character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life (I Thessalonians 4:3, 5:23; II Corinthians 3:18, 6:14-18, II Thessalonians 2:1-3, Romans 8:29, 12:1-2, Hebrews 2:11).
Jesus' Blood
The Blood that Jesus Christ shed on the Cross of Calvary was sinless and is 100% sufficient to cleanse mankind of all sin. Jesus allowed Himself to be punished for both our sinfulness and our sins, enabling all those who believe to be free from the penalty of sin, which is death (I John 1:7; Revelation 1:5, 5:9; Colossians 1:20; Romans 3:10-12, 23, 5:9; John 1:29).
Jesus Christ Indwells All Believers
Christians are people who have invited the Lord Jesus Christ to come and live inside them by His Holy Spirit. They relinquish the authority of their lives over to him thus making Jesus the Lord of their life as well as Savior. They put their trust in what Jesus accomplished for them when He died, was buried, and rose again from the dead (John 1:12; John 14:17, 23; John 15:4; Romans 8:11; Revelation 3:20).
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
Given at Pentecost, it is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth (Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5,2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6).
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible's lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters. (Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; I Timothy 4:14; II Timothy 1:6-7; I Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; I Peter 4:10).
The Church
The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus' Great Commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23).
Sacraments
Water Baptism: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48).
The Lord's Supper: A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) 'are taken in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross (Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25).
Marriage: We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God (Matthew 19:4-6).
Healing of the Sick
Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus, and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign, which is to follow believers. It is also a part of Jesus' work on the Cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit. (Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16; I Corinthians 12:9, 28; Romans 11:29).
God's Will for Provision
It is the Father's will for believers to become whole, healthy and successful in all areas of life. But because of the fall, many may not receive the full benefits of God’s will while on Earth. That fact, though, should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefits of Christ’s provision in order to better serve others.
- Spiritual (John 3:3-11; II Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10:9-10)
- Mental and Emotional (II Timothy 1:7, 2:11; Philippians 4:7-8; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 26:3).
- Physical (Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8:17; I Peter 2:24).
- Financial (Joshua 1:8; Malachi 3:10-11; Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:6-10; Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Psalm 34:10, 84:11; Philippians 4:19).
Resurrection
Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; they that are saved to the resurrection of life and they that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation (Luke 24:16, 36, 39; John 2:19-21, 20:26-28, 21:4; Acts 24:15; I Corinthians 15:42, 44; Philippians 1:21-23, 3:21).
Heaven
Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:3, 12, 20, 6:20, 19:21, 25:34; John 17:24; II Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; I Peter 1:4).
Hell
After living one life on earth, the unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally tormented with the Devil and the Fallen Angels (Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8).
Second Coming
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures (Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; I Thessalonians 4:15-17; II Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7)
Protecting ourselves from ourselves for Christ and for others.*
The purpose of an ethics document is not to be legalistic but to provide a basic code of conduct for those who pastor at CAC and help those we lead understand our commitment to a godly lifestyle. These guidelines have been designed to provide moral fences to protect the integrity of ministry. As we cannot deal with the in-depth theological issues because of time and space, we provide these general guidelines.
1) We will not, under any circumstances, ride alone in a car with someone of the opposite sex other than our spouse or an immediate family member.
2) We do not provide counsel to the opposite sex alone in a closed room. Marriage counseling is always done with a spouse or other qualified individual.
At CAC, This also includes limiting our conversations with the opposite sex by e-mail, text, Facebook, or other social media. We refer these kinds of conversations to our spouse and for those who are single, referrals are given to designated persons.
3) We will often speak publicly of our affection for our spouses (if married) and other staff and leaders when they are present and when they are not.
4) We do our best to Compliment the character or the conduct - not the coiffure or the clothing of those of the opposite sex.
5) We will let our yes be yes and our no, no ( 2 Cor. 1:18). We desire to keep our word, our commitments and our confidences. If we cannot keep an appointment we will call to reschedule and do our best to be early and not late. We will also do our best to respond to phone calls and e-mails within 24 hours. This also includes keeping an excellent credit rating, taking care of possessions and not being slothful in business (Romans 12;11). All potential business transactions among staff and those in the congregation must be approved by the lead pastor. This protects everyone involved and avoids potential offense.
6) We will practice appropriate ministerial ethics when it comes to ministry transition. This is based on Paul’s words in 2 Cor.4 “We refuse to wear masks and play games. We don't maneuver and manipulate behind the scenes. And we don't twist God's Word to suit ourselves. Rather, we keep everything we do and say out in the open, the whole truth on display, so that those who want to can see and judge for themselves in the presence of God.”
7) We will honor confidentiality in conversations and handle conflict and accusation according to the biblical pattern (Matthew 18, Romans 16; 17, Titus 3:10, 1 Tim. 5:19, 2 Cor. 4).
8) The scripture admonishes us to "Show yourself in all respects a model of good works, in your teaching show integrity, gravity, and sound speech that cannot be censured" (Titus 2:7) “set an example for the believers in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity" (1 Timothy 4:12) and to "make no provision for the flesh." In honor of this, we do not use any kind of alcoholic beverages, watch and listen to only wholesome family entertainment and do not participate in questionable practices (Romans 14:21, 1 Cor. 8:13.)
Adapted from James Macdonald and CAC guidelines.
Your body, mind, and spirit need rest. We allow ourselves to give God, as well as our families, our best when we prioritize rest as modeled for us in the Sabbath.
Physical Rest: As part of Christ Alive Staff, all full-time employees are required to identify a weekly day of rest with no work/ministry related meetings, planning, brain-storming, messaging, etc. We acknowledge this isn't always possible, but it should happen at least 40 weeks a year and become part of your weekly routine.
Messaging: With the exception of emergencies, no workplace messaging (Texts, Emails Mobile App, Phone Calls) are to be sent after 6pm daily. Wednesdays, Tuesdays, and the other occasional instances when corporate events or groups are on campus is also permissible.
A) Be mindful of your volume. Remember we are sharing spaces and some need a more quiet place to work. If you need to have a more intense conversation please step outside.
B) Remember that we have a responsibility to be mindful and respectful of one another’s ideas and thoughts concerning cultural diversity. Demeaning jokes and/or comments directed at other cultures and ethnicities is unacceptable.
C) Finally, be mindful of compliments, comments, and actions directed towards others that can be interpreted as sexually inappropriate.
As is the case in other CAC policy violations, potential for termination will be discussed.
A) Remote work definition - Remote work is defined as being fully accessible by remote contact to render hired services to CAC during a defined work week.
B) Required non-remote office hours - Monday - Wednesday 8am to 12pm.
C) Remote availability - From 12pm-5pm every Monday-Wednesday and from 9am-5pm on Thursday.
D) Remote Work Monday-Wednesday 9am-12pm is available upon request - Acceptable request would include, health issues or needs, family scheduling challenges, and vehicle or home repair instances. On rare occasions, other employment conflicts from other responsibilities approved by executive leadership may be approved.
E) All Monday-Wednesday 8am-12pm remote work must be requested and approved just as time off is.
Policy on Parents, Children and the Workplace
Maternity Leave
- A mother may take 4-6 weeks of unpaid maternity leave from the time of delivery or use approved paid time off if available.
- A father may take 2 weeks of unpaid leave from the time of delivery or use approved paid time off if available.
- Upon employee arrival back to work, office hours and responsibilities return to normal.
- Upon request and in rare and limited circumstances, additional remote hours can be granted by the executive or lead pastor but are not considered normal.
Office Hours
- Because of workplace engagement is essential for creative ministry development, young children that must be continuously monitored by an adult are not permitted to be in the workplace during regular office hours.
- Due to fewer office staff on campus on specific days, young children that fit this criterion may be brought into the office one day a week, after 12pm on either Wednesday OR Thursday.
- If a child in the office on approved days and times becomes distracting to other coworkers, they must be relocated immediately to a location on campus without employees.

Mission Statement
Our goal at Christ Alive Church is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn about God’s love while developing spiritually, emotionally, and socially. This policy is designed to create clear expectations and foster open communication between our daycare staff, parents, and children.
1. Code of Conduct for Children
Children attending Christ Alive Church’s daycare are expected to:
- Treat other children, staff, and property with respect.
- Follow directions given by the daycare staff.
- Maintain positive and cooperative behavior with peers.
- Communicate appropriately, without the use of hurtful language or actions.
- Show kindness and understanding towards others.
We believe in positive reinforcement and aim to encourage these behaviors through rewards and praise, fostering a culture of respect and love.
2. Behavior Management and Discipline Procedures
When children misbehave, our priority is to manage behavior in a way that aligns with biblical values, reflecting grace, patience, and discipline that teaches. We do not practice any form of physical punishment, shaming, or harsh correction.
Step 1: Verbal Warning and Redirection
- For minor infractions (e.g., not following directions, mild disruptions), children will receive a verbal reminder of expected behavior.
- Staff will gently redirect the child to more positive behaviors or activities.
Step 2: Time-Out or Reflection Time
- If verbal warnings and redirection do not resolve the behavior, a short time-out or period of reflection will be implemented.
- The time-out duration will match the child’s age (e.g., 3 minutes for a 3-year-old).
- After the time-out, staff will engage the child in a conversation to reflect on what happened and how to make better choices in the future.
Step 3: Parent Notification and Written Report
- For repeated or more serious behaviors (e.g., aggression, bullying, intentional property damage), parents will be notified.
- A written report will be created, outlining the incident and the steps taken by staff. This report will be shared with the parents, and they will be asked to discuss the behavior at home.
- The parent and staff will work together to help reinforce the appropriate behavior and address any underlying root issues that may be causing the child to misbehave.
Step 4: Parent-Teacher Conference
- If behavior continues or escalates despite previous steps, a parent-teacher conference will be scheduled. The purpose of this meeting is to create a partnership between the family and the daycare staff to address the root cause of the behavior.
- A behavior action plan may be implemented, which will include specific goals for the child, strategies for staff to use, and a plan for the parents to reinforce these behaviors at home.
Step 5: Suspension or Dismissal from the Program
- In rare cases where a child’s behavior poses a safety risk to themselves or others and does not improve after the above steps, the daycare reserves the right to temporarily suspend or dismiss the child from the program.
- Before such a decision is made, a meeting will be held with the parents, the childcare director, and the church leadership to discuss all possible options to best encourage and come alongside the child’s growth and development.
3. Parental Responsibilities and Expectations
At Christ Alive Church, we believe in strong parent involvement. Parents are expected to support the daycare’s behavior management efforts by:
- Reviewing and reinforcing the daycare’s code of conduct with their child.
- Responding promptly to communications from staff regarding their child’s behavior.
- Collaborating with staff to address any behavioral issues in a constructive and grace- filled manner.
- Attending parent-teacher conferences when necessary. Upholding any behavior action plan put in place for their child.
- Staff childcare is only available for parents who are onsite during a workday.
- Any schedule changes must be approved by Tiffany Ivey.
- Parents must notify day-care director if they are offsite during any scheduled workday and will not need daycare.
If a child has specific behavioral or emotional needs, parents are encouraged to communicate these with the daycare director. By doing so, staff can better accommodate and care for the child.
4. Zero Tolerance Policy
Certain behaviors will not be tolerated under any circumstances and may result in immediate suspension or dismissal from the program. These behaviors include:
- Physical violence (e.g., hitting, kicking, biting).
- Persistent bullying or harassment of other children. Intentional destruction of property.
- Dangerous behavior that puts themselves or others at risk.
- Any incident involving such behavior will be dealt with swiftly and parents will be contacted immediately to pick up their child. A meeting will be arranged to determine the best course of action moving forward.
5. Conflict Resolution and Communication
At Christ Alive Church, we value open communication. Parents are encouraged to address any concerns or questions with the daycare staff or director promptly. We believe that working together will help resolve any issues quickly and ensure the well-being of the child. Parents can expect regular updates on their child’s progress, behavior, and overall experience at the daycare.
6. Biblical Approach to Discipline
Our approach to discipline reflects the teachings of the Bible, emphasizing love, patience, forgiveness, and correction. We teach children that actions have consequences and aim to guide them towards making better choices through the following biblical principles:
- Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
- Ephesians 6:4 – “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”
- Colossians 3:21 – “Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.”
7. Policy Acknowledgment
Parents will be asked to sign an acknowledgment form agreeing to this childcare policy. This will ensure that both parents and staff are on the same page when it comes to expectations for behavior and discipline.
Conclusion
We look forward to partnering with you as we create a positive, loving environment for your child. By establishing clear expectations for both children and parents, we hope to foster a culture of respect, growth, and biblical learning within our daycare program.
We believe rest is godly (Mark 6:31) and want our team to stay refreshed and healthy. This policy exists to help us plan well, communicate clearly, and ensure our church family is supported at all times.
Request Guidelines
- All time-off requests must be submitted at least 4 weeks in advance to allow for proper scheduling and coverage.
- Submitting a request does not guarantee approval. Each request will be reviewed based on staffing needs, scheduling conflicts, and other previously approved time-off.
- Employees will be notified once a final decision has been made. Please do not make travel plans or commitments until you’ve received official approval.
- Time-off requests should be made through the designated system or form.
Clarifying Workweek Expectations
Our standard work week is Monday–Thursday, 8AM–5PM, with only a few of those hours required to be in-office.
However, it’s important to understand: Fridays and Saturdays are considered “on-call” ministry days.
This means you may be expected to support:
- Events
- Last-minute projects
- Urgent ministry needs
If you are requesting time off that includes a Friday or Saturday, a vacation day must still be submitted and approved—even if you do not typically have scheduled hours on those days.
This allows us to plan well and ensures there are no gaps in church support or leadership coverage.
Thank you for helping us serve each other and our church with integrity and honor. Clear communication helps protect your rest, the team's workflow, and the mission we share.
I understand that Christ Alive Church is a safe place for children and vulnerable adults and that Christ Alive complies with all Federal and State laws regarding reporting suspected child abuse.
As a leader, I understand that suspected abuse is to be reported to my employer who oversees me and the area in which I serve.
I also understand the 4 types of abuse defined below:
Physical: A physical act directed at a child or vulnerable adult that causes injury;
Sexual: Contact or interactions between a child and an adult, or another child, when the child is being used for sexual stimulation of the perpetrator or another person. This includes exploitation through photographs, videos, or other communication methods;
Emotional: Acts or omissions by the parent or other caregivers that have caused, or could cause, serious behavioral, cognitive, emotional, or mental disorders;
Neglect: Failure to provide for the child or vulnerable adult’s basic needs. This includes adequate adult supervision, medical attention, housing, food, and clothing. Most cases of physical neglect involve inadequate adult supervision that has caused harm to the child or vulnerable adult, or places them in danger of such harm.
I understand it is not my responsibility to investigate and in no instance will I confront a parent or care giver if abuse is suspected. I agree to comply with this policy and report any suspected abuse to my employer and direct overseer who oversees me, as well as the area I lead.
