Christ Alive Church (“Christ Alive,” “we,” “us”) runs christalive.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only, not to other sites we link to.

Information you give us

We only receive personal information when you choose to send it to us:

• Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number, the topic you pick, your preferred way to be contacted, and your message.
• Invite a Speaker form. Your name, role and contact details, and the details of the event you are asking about.
• Newsletter signup. Your email address, which goes to our email service, Flodesk, so we can send you the updates you asked for.
• Forms hosted by Planning Center (Church Center). Baptism, team, group, childcare, testimony, baby dedication and other sign-ups open on christalive.churchcenter.com. Planning Center collects that information on our behalf under its own privacy policy.
• Online giving. Gifts are processed by Amplify Giving on giving.myamplify.io. Your card or bank details go directly to Amplify. We never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we use analytics tools to understand how the site is used:

• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, your approximate location, and an IP address. Google may use cookies and similar identifiers to do this. You can read how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
• Meta Pixel lets us see whether people who saw a Christ Alive post or ad on Facebook or Instagram later visited the site, and helps us reach people with relevant content there. It may send Meta the pages you visit and a browser identifier. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta may connect that activity to your account under Meta's own privacy policy.
• Embedded services. The events calendars (Display Church), the video player (YouTube), the giving form (Amplify), and the newsletter form (Flodesk) each load from their own servers and may set their own cookies.
• Local storage. The site remembers a few things in your browser, such as a calendar view you chose or, on the staff page, that you already entered the staff passcode. This information stays on your device.

We do not collect precise location, biometric data, or health information through the site.

How we use information

• To answer your message, schedule a visit or a speaker, and follow up on a request you made.
• To send emails you signed up for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
• To run, secure and improve the website, and to understand which pages and posts help people find the church.
• To meet legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations, including giving records for tax receipts.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who we share information with

• Service providers that host the site and run our forms, email, calendars, giving and analytics: Framer, Flodesk, Planning Center, Amplify Giving, Display Church, Google and Meta. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
• Church staff and volunteers who need it to respond to you.
• When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person or the church.

Cookies and your choices

• You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, though a few conveniences will reset.
• To opt out of Google Analytics across the web, install Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• You can manage how Meta uses information from websites in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
• To stop newsletter emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us.
• Our site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

Children

The website is meant for adults and families, not for children on their own. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the site. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Keeping your information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it to us, or as long as the law requires. Giving records are kept as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, and the services we rely on encrypt data in transit. No website or online service can promise complete security, so please do not send us sensitive information, such as card numbers, through the contact form.

Your rights and requests

You can ask us to show you the personal information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@christalive.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. Some records, such as giving history, may need to be kept for legal reasons even after a request.

Links to other sites

The site links to services and sites we do not run, including YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Planning Center, Amplify Giving, Christ Alive School and the YouVersion Bible app. Their privacy practices are their own.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Significant changes may also be announced on the site.
