Christ Alive Church wants everyone to be able to use christalive.com, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This statement explains the standard we aim for, what we have done so far, where the site still falls short, and how to tell us about a problem.

The standard we aim for

We aim for the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The site was self-checked against those guidelines during its build in September 2026. It has not yet been audited by an outside accessibility specialist, so we do not claim full conformance.

What we have done

• Every meaningful photo has a written description for screen readers, and decorative textures are marked so they are skipped.
• Pages use real headings in order, so you can jump between sections with a screen reader or keyboard.
• Menus, accordions, forms and buttons can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and the focused item is visible.
• Text and background colors are chosen for contrast, and text can be enlarged in your browser without breaking the layout.
• Animation and moving elements are reduced or stopped when your device asks for reduced motion.
• Videos are provided through YouTube, where captions are available on our uploads.

Known limitations

• Embedded services. The events calendars (Display Church), sign-up forms (Planning Center's Church Center), the giving form (Amplify Giving), the newsletter form (Flodesk) and the video player (YouTube) are built by other companies. We choose them carefully, but we cannot change how they work. If one of them is hard for you to use, contact us and we will help you another way.
• Older recordings. Some older sermon and podcast recordings rely on automatic captions, which can contain mistakes.
• Live video. Our livestream does not currently include live captions.
